Items
An item is an individual file that has been either born-digital or digitised. They can be the page of a book, a 35mm slide, a plan, a photo, a glass plate, or some other material. In fact, a wide range of mediums can be uploaded as Items, and PastView offers a long list of supported file formats.
Items enable collections to be produced, grouping like items together and assigning Attributes (assigning these to Attribute Sets) so they can be filtered into categories and subcategories. These filters are what design your collection into a logical, highly searchable structure, enhancing access and discoverability.
